My point about the value of your setups is how it plays into the psychology of the situation, which isn't usually clear from videos. Were you all risking a month's earnings and thus being cautious, or feeling as though you didn't care much for losing everything fielded and thus pushing things to limits you'd not yet tried before? Basically some hint as to expectations vs reality would help people appreciate what they're seeing. Whether what you faced & how you tanked & applied dps was everyday results or something unusual.
Taking 0 losses all the time is a sign you're not pushing things to their breaking point, you're operating within a safety margin, the mittens are still on. Eve is all about risk & loss, else you wouldn't care about killing the other guys.
Surely you've seen at least footage of other people's flying and understand there's a far more dynamic and fast-paced world to the other 90% of Eve PVP? Granted point-blank large blasters is fun, but it's a niche and mostly about the setup rather than what's frapsed/released.
Speaking from a tactical standpoint, you're right. We could bring out an AHAC gang, or a Recon gang, or a sniper gang and maintain the tactics as well as our RR.
But the problem is that Rebirth. tends to fight against people who hug the station with battleships, and with more RR than we have to more RR than combat ships for them. Currently, we're at war with a group called Drone Federation, who created an alliance to try to shake off the war we declared as well as a war declared by a blue alliance of ours. To give you an idea: one pilot in that corporation has three RR alts and a Loki boosting him. For those who don't know who it is, it's Jimmy15.
We would love nothing more than to take them out with an AHAC gang. Hell, I have been running around in gangs of assault frigates and AHACS with this group. But when our opponents decide the only way they can get a fight is with a battleship on station with three Guardians repping, then we have to play their game to get kills. |
